Basic IP Server Restore Process
Restoring an IP server from a backup, when thoroughly following the Backup procedure, is an almost effortless process, and there should be no issues with a reinstallation of the IP Server software, SQL Server Database and/or the required Registry keys.
In case of issues, our Technical Support team is available during the hours listed on our Contact page.
To restore IP Server, follow these steps:
Go to Start Menu > Run
Type: services.msc
Find "Microsoft SQL service".
Right-Click and select Stop.
Locate the files saved during the backup process and copy InsightENT.mdf and InsightENT_Log.ldf
Browse to My Computer > Local Disk C > Program Files > Microsoft SQL Server > MSSQL.1 > MSSQL > DATA
Paste InsightENT.mdf and InsightENT_Log.ldf and replace the existing files of the same name (if they exist)
Locate the saved files and double-click the Registry export file. This will reinstall the registry keys.
Locate services.msc again.
Find "Microsoft SQL service"
Right-click and select Start.
Reinstall the IP Server software with the same version number.
Reboot the computer after the installation is completed.
