Analytics

Camera Analytics are used for camera “training” in areas that require enhanced security functionality.

Cameras that can enhance their capabilities over time, can offer a variety of functions based on the available feature set provided from the manufacturer.

Refer to the Camera’s Manufacturer’s documentation to determine the capabilities provided for Analytics.

To enable this feature, open the Camera Properties for the selected camera and check the “Capture VCA Event” box in the Additional Options section of the General tab..

Camera Down

The Camera Down event relies on multiple variables for it to be triggered.

Most commonly, this trigger becomes active when a camera cannot be logged into by the IP Server, when it becomes unresponsive due to a network outage and is helpful in early detection of issues that might not be fully realized by the Administrator.

Digital Input

Some manufacturers provide cameras with the ability to enhance their functionality using Digital Input/output devices within VI MonitorPlus.

Most commonly, a microphone is used with a camera via Digital Input/output to recording conversations within its range.

The Administrator shall define the Reference Name for the Event, then select the Camera from a drop-down list of available devices, its Port, and the Trigger Type.

License Plates

License Plate Recognition (LPR) related Events require a Reference Name, a Trigger Condition (license plate IS or IS NOT in the Group below), License Group and Camera specification.

Additionally, Clients can be notified about the Event with a custom message.

SDK Input

SDK Input allows the IP Server to interface with other software and hardware manufacturers who are connected to the same network.

SDK Input events indicate that IP Server is receiving data from the connected SDK device/software.

This is only used by software and hardware developers and for testing purposes.

User Login

User Login is for notifications to groups of Admins or higher-access-level Users who need to monitor a system for unusual access rights, or for routine use of IP server.

When a User logs into the system, it is recorded into the IP Server System Log files.

Video Motion

Motion Event creation requires a Reference Name and to select either a single specific Camera or ALL cameras in the network.

Motion Events are recorded in the IP Server System Logs and can be utilized by an Action Event.
